As far as the licensing and state requirements, they are the same to be a luxury homes real estate agent as they are to handle any other type of real estate transaction. However, it’s also desirable to have plenty of experience, and being familiar with your local area and market is also a plus. Many of the most successful realtors have a network of contacts and often have advance knowledge of when a luxury property is coming on the market. You’ll need to have better than average marketing skills, and be able to really promote and market properties to the clients who can afford them, with excellent pictures and compelling descriptions. And first impressions count too; if you’re routinely dealing with clients who can afford a multi million dollar home, it’s important to be confident, well groomed and able to comfortably mix with different types of people.
