It’s easy to find free classifieds online; you can buy and sell just about any goods or services. Staying safe and secure is important when using online classifieds. Remember that if something just appears too good to be true, then it’s best avoided. Scammers like to use classifieds, often pretending to sell cars, offer work at home positions or apartments to rent. Often these are nonexistent and means someone is simply trying to get your personal information. Of course, you should never give out your full name, social security number or any bank account or financial information when replying to a classified ad. And if meeting with a seller, always meet in a public place and let someone know where you are going. The majority of ads posted online are legitimate, but it pays to be careful and use common sense.
