A private event bartender needs to operate autonomously with complete knowledge of bartending. He or she should be expertly versed in the recipes and methods for preparing a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The must understand garnishments and the appropriate glasses for each drink. Just as important is their outward personality. They should be gregarious and easy to approach.
Because they will be working with no to limited assistance, they should be capable of lifting cases of liquids. They should also have a good understanding of the proper storage methods for everything they serve.
The character of a private bartender is very important. His or her appearance should be neat and clean, but that means nothing if they cannot get along with the people they serve. The bartender should limit conversation with each customer without rudely ending any communication. Most importantly, he or she must be able to work while talking.
