What is IT Management?

IT management refers to the process of monitoring and administering an organization’s information technology computer systems including hardware, software and the networks that connect them. IT management seeks to make information systems operate as efficiently as possible with the goal of helping the people that use them to perform their work better.

Almost all organization’s operating today have IT functions at the center of their business operations and future growth strategies. This means that IT departments are being tasked with more functions than ever before and are like the central hub that supports all the spokes of the wheel that enables the fulfillment of the organization’s mission.

In today’s business environment where the use of computer technology is essential, effective IT management has never been more important and many organization’s are outsourcing these functions to professionals that provide the most effective service at the least cost.
