There are plenty of hiking adventures to be had, but one of the most popular is walking England’s Pennine Way. This 270-mile hiking trail stretches from Derbyshire to the Scottish border and takes in some of England’s most spectacular scenery. The trail was created in the 1960s, with the exact route mapped out to take in the best scenery in England. The Pennine Way takes in moorland, forests, and waterfalls, and also passes through some of northern England’s most picturesque towns. Highlights of the walk include the waterfall at High Force, the natural limestone amphitheater at Malham Cove, and Hadrian’s Wall. Along the route are plenty of options for accommodation, including self-catering, bed and breakfasts, farmhouses, and camping sites. Most people take a couple of weeks to walk the entire length, although it’s possible to walk the trail in a series of stages.
