Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam (formerly known as Saigon), is the country’s largest and most visited city. There are many great things to do in Ho Chi Minh including the following:
Take a Free Walking Tour – guided by university students studying hospitality and tourism, these three walks are a great introduction to the city and you can ask your guides about the best places to visit, shop and eat; a little local knowledge can go a long way.
Visit Independence Palace – originally called the Norodom Palace it was the home of the French Governor during the country’s colonial period. During the Vietnamese war, it was the home to the president of the US puppet regime of South Vietnam. Today it is a museum with grand meeting rooms and a bunker still filled with munitions from the war.
