An articulated vehicle is one that has a pivot joint as part of its construction which allows it to turn more sharply. These vehicles are often large, such as buses, trucks and trains, that would otherwise have difficulty negotiating sharp bends. Articulated trailer tankers are vehicles that have an articulated joint between the tractor and the trailer that contains a tank for transporting various types of liquids.
These tanks tend to be large so that they can carry large loads and come in many variants: insulated and non-insulated, pressurized and those that can carry various types of liquids at the same time (by the use of internal divisions within the tank). The tanks are usually made of aluminium, stainless steel or high carbon steel and are often categorized based on the type of liquid they carry including water, chemicals, fuel, oil among others.
