Counting Occupant Numbers During Covid

Occupant counting has become commonplace during the Covid 19 pandemic, and it’s an effective way to limit the number of people, ensure social distancing guidelines are met, and help keep everyone safe. Many banks, public buildings, restaurants and stores have been limiting their occupancy numbers to 30, 40 or 50 percent of the normal numbers, and it often means someone has to be at the entrance, counting the number of people entering and leaving. In most cases, a small hand held electronic device is used, although it’s possible to have a less sophisticated method, such as adding and removing tickets from a container. Various companies specialize in software to count and limit the number of occupants, and while limiting numbers can be seen as an inconvenience, there’s no doubt that it has played an important part in limiting the spread of the Corona virus.
