The old-fashioned windup bugling worked well, but if you wanted to do something different and look for the best elk bugle, the new mouthpiece from Abe & sons would be more suited for you as it offers superior quality.
The Elk Bugle is a modern take on an old diaphragm bugling. It’s the same shape as the original, but you now get a hydraulic valve instead of having the spring tension.
The original windup diaphragm bugling is made of steel wire, it has an air-tight seal to prevent airflow through the diaphragm, so it works even better now.
When you press on the air valve, it creates a compression with the wire reducing the volume of air created and increasing the pressure around the valve. The result is higher-pitched voice quality, but you still have your beautiful elk call or bugling.
